What Is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful psychotherapeutic practice initially developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro in the late 1980’s to treat troubling symptoms of trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). EMDR has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of many issues.
EMDR helps clients process memories which have created negative beliefs about themselves and the world and have shaped their emotional reactions to things. It can produce faster and more long-lasting results compared to other modalities. This is possible because instead of just problem-solving daily symptoms and patterns, EMDR addresses and heals the root of your symptoms.
